BEAUTIFUL BUILDING REUSE: The Barn House in Belgium
Building reuse is often overshadowed by the long green shadow of new high performance architecture. But the intrinsic nature of repurposing and bringing second life to an otherwise discarded structure is a sustainable idea we can’t ignore, especially when it’s done as gracefully as this old barn redux in Belgium. Architect Rita Huys of Buro2 skillfully transformed this agricultural icon into a beautiful, modern dwelling known simply as The Barn Home.

CameraPorn: 60 Photography Links You Can’t Live Without
60 Photography Links You Can’t Live Without at CameraPorn
CameraPorn has a nice round up of 60 photography related links (including a mention of thomashawk.com) that is worth checking out.
I always like lists like this because even though I’m frequently familiar with many of the sites, I almost always find new sites worth visiting and subscribing to as well.
I’ve been meaning to do one of these lists myself now for a few months. Maybe I’ll get around to that at some point… then again, I’ve got 400 shots from a recent trip to L.A. that are staring at me waiting to be processed.![]()

PREFAB FRIDAY: Maison EvolutiV by Olgga
This gorgeous wood container prefab from Olgga Architects was turning heads at Salon Europeen du Bois in Grenoble last month. At just 70 square meters (about 753 square feet), this energy efficient abode is made of two prefabricated modules perched one on top of the other. Rather than box out the structure with a stacked configuration, the designers pivoted the top unit to create a variety of interesting and integrated outdoor spaces, as well as a variety of structural possibilities.
